Two phases. Accumulation: nest egg = Current x (1+m)^months + Monthly x ((1+m)^months - 1)/m. Distribution: the balance is drawn down monthly until it reaches zero; the result tells you how many years it survives.
A common starting point is 25x your annual planned withdrawals (the "4%" rule of thumb). This calculator goes further: it runs the withdrawal simulation and tells you how many years your plan genuinely lasts.
Something conservative for the accumulation phase — 5-7% after costs for a mixed portfolio — and lower still for the withdrawal phase, since you want less volatility when you cannot wait out a market dip.
